Dan 3:

"Looks like I was wrong to step aside for year-end, last week.

Oh well."

Better safe than sorry...Yeah...I must confess I'm already itching now that I've bailed...

New week next week...

By the way, inasmuch as Athy XP's have caught on so quickly, perhaps q1 AMD mix might approach 3/1 vs. current 1/1 Athy/Duron mix ratio...That can only bode well for q1 ASP's...

P.S. It appears that AMD's price/performance superiority is indeed attracting accelerating consumer interest as evidenced by the narrowing price gap (P4 1.9 gig = $256, Athy XP 1.9 gig = $246). This accelerating AMD consumer interest (i.e. increasing Athy XP demand) has resulted in a spectacular narrowing of the price gap at the top end from over 50% one year ago to a mere 5% today...Is the unthinkable about to occur, where AMD's product lineup is about to command a premium??? (Perhaps the laws of economics do ultimately prevail whereby the superior product over time does command the premium price!!!)

Gotta say it again...AMD's progress over the past year as measured by the narrowing in the INTC/AMD price gap at the top end is SPECTACULAR...that AMD is shipping a record number of units in the most dismal economic setting in over 20 years while at the same time rapidly narrowing the top end price gap from 50% to 5% indicates a performance level that is SPECTACULAR, SPECTACULAR, SPECTACILAR...

(Think I just talked myself into jumping back into AMD with both feet)
