it will have pro forma profit in 2002.

You need real profits to run a business. Pro-fudged results are useless.

it will make money in 2003.

Problem is, they don't have cash to last past Q2 '02.

To address this problem they can either declare bankruptcy to suspend debt and DC payments (in which case shareholders will lose bad) or obtain fresh money by issuing more equity in which case shareholders lose bad too.

The perfect short if there ever was one.
