first time used Priceline.com -- it worked got airline tickets to Denver for a ski trip now a silly gnawing question: could I have gotten it for less? paying well over $1000 was out of the question for less than 1/2 price on roundtrip airfare from Pitt to Denver gonna use this again and again for future trips a college roommate and his family are going to ski country they have three sons: 15, 17, 19 I get along great with the younger two, older aloof 17 is a great athlete with baseball, soccer, XCrun they actually think they are gonna ski circles around me they are in for a surprise esp when they fall and sit and recover and get up I will bury them with 12 inches of slide spray the New England Tradition getting in ski shape, to complement swim/run shape Univ of Pitt has 40-story cathedral Thursday I went up and down twice on staircase feeling it in calves, not bad though beats a stairmaster anyday, great views the 17 is great kid last summer he couldnt figure how I still had a decent pitching delivery, curve ball, tailing fastball of course it was only 60 mph he loved my knuckleball, which I taught him "not bad for an old guy" is his oft-used quip wait until he sees the step cristy we plan to go to Keystone to get acclimated then Vail then Breckenridge three straight days might be tough if vigorous skiing I mentioned Copper Mt instead of overrated Breckenridge but never done Vail since 1980 been out there a few times done Breck, Steamboat, Copper wasted time repeating Breck Copper was superlative now if I can use Priceline to get a 4-day car rental for $10/day enjoy the holidays in Bubba Country you must be pleased that Bubba Clinton's rep and legacy is eroding so quickly I am his legacy was centered between his legs / jim

S&P calls credit card debt 'worrisome' 12/26/01 - 1:41pm - By Tomi Kilgore David Wyss, chief economist at Standard & Poor's, charge-offs by credit card companies are expected to hit a record-high 8 percent in 2002, given the impact of the recession and umemployment on incomes. Wyss noted that zero-rate financings provided by automakers and low mortgage rates have also contributed to the build up of consumer debt, but said it was the non-mortgage debt that was the most troublesome. "People who borrowed to buy a house should survive this mild recession, but those who were borrowing to buy vacations may not," Wyss said. Among credit card issuers, MBNA (KRB) is adding 31 cents to $34.11, Bank One (ONE) is gaining 52 cents to $39.31, FleetBoston Financial (FBF) is slipping 13 cents to $36.36 and American Express (AXP) is advancing 71 cents to $34.97.
