Milo, Re: "UMC will allow 30% Market Share by 2Q or 3Q next year."

UMC will crank out substandard parts to make up for the fewer volumes that AMD will have as they transition their Austin plant to flash. If anything, a smaller percentage of premium parts will lower AMD's market share, not increase it. Just remember that for every market hole that AMD covers, like overseas markets, their other leading markets will weaken. AMD isn't growing in revenue, so they won't have the manpower or money to spread themselves out any thinner. You can't squeeze blood from a stone, and you can't make something out of nothing. AMD has already maxed out their market share this past year given the best opportunities they had - the strength of the Athlon and the weakness of the Pentium 4. But now that the Pentium 4 is stronger (and will grow stronger yet next year), what brand new product is supposed to win AMD 9% of the microprocessor market? Certainly not something that they can release in the next couple quarters.

Re: "It's just a fact you're going to have to get used too."

The fact that you can't seem to get used to is that AMD no longer has a revolutionary new product like the K7 was for the last couple years. The Athlon is aging, and the Hammer, while only a small evolutionary step past the Athlon, is suffering delay after delay - and you AMDroids keep telling us to accept the "fact" that AMD will have 30% market share in two or three quarters?

LOL, you better get used to the fact that it ain't gonna happen.

Milo,

Re: "UMC will allow 30% Market Share ... It's just a fact you're going to have to get used too."

ROTFLMAO ... In case you haven't noticed Milo, AMD is currently "losing" market
share. Now down to 18% and "falling" ... This is a "fact" you're going to have to
get used too. <ggg>

Make It So,
