Sharansky: Peres- Abu Ala Deal is “Act II in the Play of Illusions”
(IsraelNationalNews.com) The Minister of Construction and Housing, Natan Sharansky, called the reported Peres – Abu Ala agreement “dangerous” and “a prize for terror.” Sharansky called on Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to prevent Foreign Minister from pursuing any further negotiations with the PLO leader.

Minister Sharansky stated, “This is going to be the second act in the play of illusions by the producers of the Oslo agreement, who insist on trying to build a ‘new middle east’ through awards for terrorism. In the first act Arafat was brought back from Tunis so that he could be transformed from a terrorist to a peace partner. After the resounding failure and after it has been proven beyond all doubt that Arafat is not a partner and that concessions made by Israel only brought an increase in terror, they again are trying to transform Arafat from a terrorist to a statesman and award him another prize, in the form of a Palestinian state and negotiations under fire.”
