"NOR vendors, such as Advanced Micro Devices Inc. and Intel Corp., have addressed the need for higher densities by developing multilevel cell (MLC) designs that store two bits a memory cell and thus bump up density without a corresponding increase in die area or cost."

This is wrong. AMD's MirrorBit is not a MLC design. It appears to be a contactless design, well actually a reduced contact one. It avoids a lot of the draw backs of MLC. It is not known if there are some other trade offs, however...

Dan: Intel supplies Ericsson with flash and AMD supplies Nokia.

I sure know who I would prefer to supply with flash&#133 ;-)

(although, in all fairness, Ericsson does have some pretty good models every now and then)

Do either Nokia or Ericsson have exclusive flash suppliers? Seems unwise to me&#133
