Okay. I guess patriotism doesn't apply to "Solon" in any event with respect to the U.S., inasmuch as it is not his homeland that he talks about so much. (I assume again). I still don't know who "AJ" is, or what he/she has to do with any of this.

Karen, usually you write quite clearly, but this phrase has me baffled. I mean, one could easily say that John Walker was differently patriotic.

Orwell would have had a delightful time with "differently patriotic." It fits right there in 1984.

Does it mean the same thing about patriotism as "differently abled" means about physical or mental capabilities?

Heck, though, maybe I shouldn't complain. I should just adopt the terminology for myself.
