I've been setting up a new Windows XP system this weekend and have been very pleased with it so far. The HW and SW support is amazingly better than any previous version of Windows. Plugging in the old printer WinXP recognized it and autoinstalled the necessary driver before I had finished tightening the connector cable. I'm sure you'll be pleased with your new system.

Migrating your old personalizations to your new system will vary. There is a Files and Settings transfer Wizard that XP supplies to help with this but in my experience it's more art than science since if you're like most folks the old PC has accumulated an awful lot of clutter and it's usually best to start with a clean(er) slate.
