Take a look at this: finance.yahoo.com^VIX&d=c&k=c3&p=&t=my&l=on&z=m&q=l This is a 15 year look.Interpret it any way you want. I have no axe to grind, but simply want to give a factual heads up that this one indicator taking alone may not be reliable. I do think that the vix 20 day ma is very useful for 1-3 month trends, but that is just my opinion.
