I think you are wise to keep your overhead down at the outset. If you do great, you can always step up to better gear. If there is no Fry's store in your area, you might check out their new online store at: outpost.com I have been getting good deals at Fry's for a few years. It is a family owned business and they are very competitive. The cheap monitor I bought there is made in California. I researched the company and they do a huge volume in these monitors, thus the low cost. Fry's has been selling them for quite awhile and I doubt they'd have stayed with them if they were not decent.
