Can't buy it online. So it doesn't count in my book.

Doesn't count for what? Who cares if you can't buy it on line?

Milo, the point is that iTaniums exist. Sure the volume is very low. Everybody knows this. The ramp won't start for a year or so but:

iTanium has Silicon. Hammer doesn't.
iTanium has working systems. Hammer has none.
iTanium has Design wins. Hammer has none.
iTanium has OEMs who want it. Hammer has none.
iTanium has an OS. Hammer has none.
iTanium has 64bit applications. Hammer has none.
iTanium has end users. Hammer has none.
Intel has experience with 4-way and up servers. AMD has none.
The second generation McKinley was demonstrated running in a 4-way server last March. Hammer's first generation doesn't even exist.
McKinley will outperform Hammer and Madison will be out by the time Hammer ever shows it's face.
The fab process Madison will run on is already in high volume production. AMD doesn't even have a process to go with the nonexistant Hammer.

When Hammer finally stops slipping and AMD finally gets the extremely expensive SOI process working they will then get to start debugging their chipsets. When they finally get it all working there isn't anybody who wants it.

But hey! You've left a tooth mark or Intel's shiney new boot so you're the winner, right?
