We use 3Com cards with our Dual Athlon systems and haven't had any problems.

I think I'd rather have a board with a stability issue with one or two cards, like the that 3Com, than the Intel problem in which whole families of AGP cards will destroy the motherboard the moment it is turned on.

You don't get a chance to sort out driver issues on an Intel board after it has been fried because one of the incompatible video cards was installed.
