Merry Christmas
I'm up, having eaten too many festive goodies. I'm glad your impressions of Canada are fond. Indeed for the vast majority of Canadians the feelings towards your great nation are mutual. Unfortunately much of the political landscape in Canada borders on socialism, which leaves many Canadians torn between a genuine fondness for Americans as individuals, and an unease that sometimes spills into hostility, with what they see as American imperialism. It always amazes me to see how people from the left will use the freedom bought with the blood of our collective nations young men to attack them for doing just that. Hind sight is always 20 20, and it's easy to sit and criticize decisions that were made in the heat of battle, but what did they do when the heat was turned up? Most of them heard their Mothers calling. From my perspective the U.S.A. has at the very least, tried to do the right things for friend and foes alike, even though they have sometimes failed. I am proud that Canadians are your neighbors and friends. I think you've done all right for a bunch of rebels. My son married an American gal last summer and has since defected, er moved, to the U.S.

God, continue to bless America.
