JW,

Raiders defense is being exposed as fraudulent. Those safeties are soft. And Sebastian "It wasn't mine, honest, and besides, isn't that stuff legal in America?" Janikowski will blow it again if given the chance.

Hi Jim,

Considering how well the Steelers have played, they sure could make it to the Super Bowl. Their defense (#1 in the NFL) could give even the Rams some serious problems. Don't forget that prior to joining the Steelers, the Bus was given the heave-ho by St Louie after leaving him in the garage for a year. No doubt, #36 will be wanting to leave some tire tracks on a few Rams.

I have an eye on da Bears to sneak in to the Super Bowl mice elf. I like the way they play. In the AFC, the Raiders & Ravens are to be reckoned with.

You could be right about Brown's brain being the Achilles Heel for the Steelers. FWIW, Steelers special teams have been sub par lately too (except Josh Miller). We give up too many yards on KO's & punts & we don't get much in the way of return yards. This is my big concern for the Black & Gold. If Brown continues to hook 'em wide, & special teams continue their lackluster play, it could prove to be fatal in a close game. This is one area a team can't afford to have a let down in. As good as the Steelers are, you can't expect them to win two playoff games, then the Super Bowl with poor special teams play.

On the plus side, Kordell has stepped up big time this year. He's always had the talent, but lacked the maturity. An ever changing host of Offensive Coordinators didn't help either. Me thinks that Mike Mularkey put together an offensive package (#3 in the NFL) that allowed Slash to blossom & take advantage of the quality wide outs on this team. Heck, even Troy Edwards is starting to look like a #1 pick should out there.

FWIW, I am quite satisfied how well the Black & Gold have performed this year. They've already exceeded my expectations considering that they lost so many quality players last year. I'll admit I want, 'One for the thumb'. However, I won't be too disappointed if they don't get there.

Steelers could be the Backroom media and advertising favs.
In advertising dollars, I think people want to see...
Bears or Packers vs Pittsburgh. The Rams seem so plastic, so artificial....(like the turf)
The surprising Bears of the huge Windy City ($$$$$$$$$) vs the surprising Steelers (throw Bill C. a bone, guys he deserves a try at the SB)
Then everyone loves the Superman Common Man's QB, media darling Brett Favre, the Mississippi snow/cold luvin QB.
The QB who doesn't have to play inside a DOME on FAKE GRASS.

Annette

Let it be the year of the underdogs.
