Because of its high density (19.1 g/cm3) and hardness, U-238 is used to enhance the armor-piercing/penetration power of projectiles and bombs. It seems that the relatively low radiation from U-238 is not of much significance in these ordnance materiél. Punching and penetration power is important! against tanks and bunkers.
