fyodor:

AMD is selling a 1.2 GHZ Athy at $91 while INTC is listing the equivalent performing 1.2 GHZ P3 at $251 ( a whopping 275% more) in effort, to force the corporate consumer to purchase the 1.9 GHz p4 at $257...

Protected by the barriers of entry that exclude AMD from entering the N/A markets, INTC is still probably selling quite a few p3's at usurious comparative prices...

It is the Athy/p3 price disparity that explains why AMD lost money in q3 and AMD's superior yields are what kept AMD from losing more...

The p3 has now maxed out in its attempts to keep pace with Athy evolution, and is currently being replaced by the p4 which as we know is experiencing production difficulties and can no longer command usurious pricing discrepancies over the equivalent performing Athy XP's...No longer can INTC command a 275% premium as witnessed by comparative pricing of the Athy XP 1800+ and the p4 1.8 Mhz, where the p4 currently commands a 10% premium as opposed to the 275% premium...

This product pricing realignment is well underway and should run to completion over the next year as product continues to move up the gradient scale, which if true, could cause no end of problems at INTC...

Once product pricing parity is in place, it will be wholly evident as to which company is experiencing what relative yields and which company has the lower cost structure, even to Monica and her flock!!!

AMD's low ASPs have been documented, as well as their inability to sell all their product from Fab25, even at fire-sale prices.

This is news to me. Where have you seen anything showing AMD was not sold out? If this is true it could modify the theory that AMD's yields are "terrible". It's possible they may move up to only "very bad".
