like it or not, you're betting on a good quarter. i don't think it was tax loss. last year's drop (which reached a low on the 26th of last year --please double-check) was most likely tax-loss. i don't believe it's the same case this year, since very few inst actually need the loss. tax loss needs to be offset with tax gains in order to gain the most from this strategy.
