Tim,
When looking at the NYSEBP, it is important to look at the source of the chart to determine what scale you are looking at. If you are using Stockcharts, 50% is actually near the upper end, whereas if you are looking at DWA it would be more of a midpoint, as you suggest. I would be curious to see what DWA has as the current BP for the NYSE.
