The banks may save some of Enron to get as much as they can for the debt that they hold.

However, don't kid yourself about equity holders. In over 97% of Ch. 11 reorganizations, shareholders get nothing. And of the remaining 3%, only in the case of pre-packaged bankruptcies, a la COVD, do the shareholders get anything of substance after the huge dilution that must occur.
