We forgave Germany, Japan, Italy, within months of the end of WW II, and started trading with them. Turned them from enemies into good friends. It is dumb, dumber, and dumbest not to do the same with Cuba.

I'm not a supporter of the continuation of the Cuban embargo, but your analogy is not a good one. The governments of Germany, Japan, and Italy had been wiped out. Your analogy would make sense only if we had invaded Cuba and set up a military occupation which eventually turned over the country to a democratic government and then we refused to trade with Cuba.
