It is no more patronizing for me to imply the Santa believers need help than for you to imply that the non-believers need help. It is not completely clear if he was implying that non-believers need help because they are non-believers, or just for the same reasons everyone else could use help. The first could be considered patronizing but he could have just been asking someone/thing that he believes in to help others in a general sense, not to help them to believe. If its unclear one response would just be to ask, another would be to just give him the benefit of the doubt, a third which you usually do not take is to assume the more negative view. Tim
