Gaza has about 55km of beach -- all of it the same fine, white sand. The settlements have a couple of kilometers of beach -- most of it attached to a resort in the southern part of the strip. No sand is worth the lives of people at a disco, a pizza parlor, or a downtown pedestrian mall. If you equate sand with human life, you have a problem.
