The airlines are getting safer because they are now more democratic. The guy with the C-3 in his shoes should have been kept off the plane by competent profiling. That will rapidly progress. But, instead, the idiot security people let him on, he tried to light his shoes, and the passengers voted him right into captivity. Looking forward to the day when a heavily-armed pilot can storm out of the cockpit and blow the guy's brains out-then continue the flight in peace.
