I agree - but there is a risk of a worse price war next year than this year.

I think so too. I Intel will cut prices of all .18u P4s to under $200 (from $400 - today's price of 2 GHz P4), as soon as in January, and probably price .13u at some $250 and $350.

This will push XP ASPs down a bit, but transition from Thunderbird to Palomino should keep ASPs in about the same range.

This is my guess for January, and things will only go downhill from there, IMO.
