E!:

Happy holidays and above all a great 2002 to you and the thread.

I place no credence at all in the theory that Jock and Shane were one and the same. In a number of PMs, I got to know Shane fairly well--in fact, both he (as an actuary) and I (as a reinsurance consultant following my stint as reinsurance co. VP) were under contract to Coopers and Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) albeit in different cities. As well, he and I shared the same Alma Mater--a couple of decades apart. Jock, on the other hand, revealed himself (to me at least), through his style of commentary, syntax and vocabulary, to be just what he claimed to be--a mid-to-lower level associate lawyer (not partner) with a large law firm. That cocksure and abrasive style is a dead giveaway :-) Partners, mellowed by age, are far more diplomatic, smoother, more persuasive in my experience.

As for games, I suppose that you are correct although I had always deluded myself into thinking that SI posters were somehow a few cuts above the Yahoo crowd...(no offence intended, Gunmetal Girl ;))

Regards,
Wolf
