Sun, does the put to call ratio still work for technicians (assuming, charitably, that it once did work)? By now, nearly every trader with a five figure portfolio knows you can make calls out of puts and puts out of calls by including the long or short McGuffin, otherwise known as stocks. So, if someone buys a synthetic call by buying a put and buying the stock, that gets reported as a bearish long put, or 180 degrees opposite of the option player's intent. Not that TA types haven't used nonsensical indicators in the past, but this one seems beyond visibility. <g>
