"We can both be right." I recognized the correctness in your statement about a "fundamentalist flaw." I, however, dissagree that the nature of this flaw, as you've positioned it, is fundamental to worshipping God.

"Perhaps all religions are as you say, but not all religious persons, which is what I was talking about." OK, and yet the religions themselves acknowledge hypocrisy and oppression or compulsive extremism as a violation of faith and practice. So it can hardly be used as a condemnation of the religion that such things are displayed in the world. In fact this should lend evidence to a religion's authenticity.

"I know that there are religious persons who put promoting their brand of absolutism above world peace." Ah, see here you and I may have some issues. The Peace of my soul is only available with Justice. Sitting idly by while despots pillage and mame does not bring any thing but termoil and torture to the striving of decent persons. Promoting world pacivism, given our situation does not contribute to anything but tyranny. This is the same world it has always been. World Peace is the cry of Tyrants. Wouldn't Saddam love to have all the world back off in a declaration of unconditional peace? yep

On the other hand there are those who worship loyalty to the rites and rituals of their heritage with out having love for the intent of the docrine or the authority of its referent.
