It was pretty well understood that the inheritor of the Whitehouse from the prior administration would have a lot of rebuilding to do of the military. That would cost money and the Kosovo war expended many munitions which would need to be replaced. Our generals admitted we could no longer fight a war on two fronts. Our military was decimated. The spigots are cranked wide open for a reason. You can't turn the economy around on a dime. It needs time to turn. It's a pretty big ship. That having been said, I believe we need to eliminate the capital gains tax.
