Intelligent and educated Muslims everywhere have done exaclty this. Your lantern is lighting the wrong tunnels. We each have a specific responsibility to account for our stand on justice and against oppression and tyranny. I can not speak for other Muslims but I can take a stand on this act as a Muslim and have. Yes , you certainly have come a long way from trying to defend...or was it "explain" away the method and brand of Islam practiced by the Taliban here on this thread before Sept 11 Bree ? It would nice to see you provide a link or two to all these universal decries made by "intelligent" Muslims everywhere for the actions of 9/11 ? I can not speak for other Muslims but I can take a stand on this act as a Muslim and have. Just as you were so ready to condemn the actions of the Taliban before 9/11 here ? The universal oppression of women throughout the entire Islamic world ? The dominance of ignorant fundamentalism , tyranny , and corrupt political despotism that is rife in the Islamic world ? Your Allah may be great , but he is also very old , rusty and myopic . This is no God of peace ,and never was. There is an entangled mass of politics that is wanting to be attached to this that I am not yet willing to take a stand on. There are many despots and tyrannical dictators in the world ready, willing, and able to exploit this circumstance to further the extent of their greed and corruption. And what despots would you be refering too ? The Arabian ? The Iraqis ? The Iranian ? Syrian? Pakistani? The setting up of fundamentalist religious fanatical training camps ( schools <gg> ) all over the world , funded by the curse of the Arabian oil and the fundamentalism of small minded, rigid radical clerics and corrupted petty Princes, Kings & royals? There is an entangled mass of politics that is wanting to be attached to this that I am not yet willing to take a stand on. There are many despots and tyrannical dictators in the world ready, willing, and able to exploit this circumstance to further the extent of their greed and corruption. I would like to have you name a few presently outside of world of Islam ? The only despotism and tyrannical societies that seem apparent to any unaided eye , are found in the Middle East and in Islam . Does the word "reformation", women' s equality, democracy and secular tolerance frighten you ? Some Americans have one agenda and that is vengeance. Do we sacrifice all principles of freedom, truth, and justice to justify any course that could be taken to defeat the Al-Quaida network? Some would say yes. I would not. If some of us seem ambiguous it may be due to a bigger picture. Honestly , you are such a weak and sick creature . What "bigger picture" are you referring ? You claim to have taken a stand , yet with every other breath seem to denounce the society in which you live or it's right to seek to bring these vicious ,calculating murderers of Allah to justice . How ambiguous and deceptive are you ? What bigger picture and sacrificing what freedoms are you referring ? Sacrifices are being made , but in the name of justice and freedom from petty religious tyrants and terrorist that would push their brand of medevil prophesy and hate.... Where as a nation do we wade into this mirk and myre? It would be irresponsible to give unrestricted authorization to the most powerful military and political force the world has ever known. What do we know about power and its ability to corrupt? Do we want to be part of a carte blanche world wide force of military power and destruction? Not me. Well Bree , looks like it is a choice of get tough , or get out . We know where you stand don't we ? As I said to you before , you are a complete dissembling weakling ....if there was one critique that could be made of the west , it has been to "empower" with it's greed for cheap oil and being fixed and based on a dependance for it . But maybe in time that will change ...miracles of science you know .
