yes, I am aware of the scatter shot effect of defect distribution. This does indeed hurt Intel more than AMD since with twice the die area they can expect half the yield.

Well I can see that all the typing I did went in one eye and out the other. That is definitaley NOT what I said and if I didn't get through the first time it won't do any good to try again.

In fact AMD may well have a lower defect/square inch ratio since they have newer and better FABS...

Considering FAB25 is old and being transitioned to Flash anyway, All of AMD's 1 fab is still older than the current Intel Fabs producing .13u products. AMD's yield problem speaks for itself as to who's fab(s) is/are better.
