Pakistan Warns of Nuke Threat

A Pakistani military official warned yesterday that the escalating conflict with India could lead to nuclear war.

Brigadier Mohammad Yaqub said the confrontation over Kashmir and other issues is so "highly explosive" that "even a small, little incident can result in a chain reaction which nobody will be able to control."

He said an all-out war would be "horrific for the entire world" - and could lead to an exchange of attacks using atomic weapons.

"If any country feels that it comes [down] to its own survival, probably there won't be any hesitation to use nuclear weapons," Yaqub told Reuters Television.
