not surprised that Hyundai has passed those morons at all. wife is a MechE, ex-MIT prof who used to (until she got sick of them) consult w/ the Detroit boys on quality issues. i can barely get her to RENT a domestic car, let alone buy one (did just buy the new VW Passat wagon, which is a great car fwiw). and those Hyuandai's ain't so bad. rented one in Africa bunch of years ago and put a TON of hard miles into it over the course of about a month, and it kept asking for more. cheers
