Byrd is the king of pork, no doubt. But even pork puts people back to work, and the Republicans were willing to go along with a lot of the pork. But not a new entitlement program that is even bigger than Hilalrycare was. I dislike pork, but it is a fact of life for now. This country needs tax cuts. bin Laden's latest tape calls on his followers to attack America's economy. Daschle is more than happy to oblige.
