OT: Bought the new car in October. Now the new Dell Inspiron has Windows XP. I am not a big fan just yet. For one thing I tried to load a DSL connection tonight and the 3Com modem and drivers are not compatible. Fortunately I had my old Dell with 98 on it and that works but obviously I need to get myself up to speed on the new laptop. I need a few points upward on AMAT to make all this struggling feel worthwhile. Anyway the whole XP experience is a nightmare in beautiful fonts. I guess I'll have to do what my brother-in-law the programmer always says and RTFM!

Read the F%#!ing Manual.

Arrrrg!

Gottfried, Guess i am not doing my part. My around town car is a 1986 Nissan Maxima with 196,000 miles which runs great as of now. It's due for a timing belt change at 207,000 miles. I understand I should get 282,000-300,000 miles out of it. Therefore, it should last me another 10 years. <ggg> However, my new one for trips is a Toyota Avalon (a great car). I do get a new car fever but ask myself what is the purpose of my old car around town--just local transportation.
