Hmmmmmmmm.

seams or seems?
horizan or horizon?

"Long" term probably means over 1 year, more likely 3-5, and certainly doesn't mean "trading on the ups & downs".

Darn spelling checkers never did get implemented in SI's compose edit boxes. Guess that idea got dropped in the bit bucket when the market tanked.

Hi Keith,

The real traction on KOPN earnings will not come till the ramp starts on 3H handsets, which should be 2003-2004. The launch of 3G handsets will drive demand for HBT wafers and cyberdisplays. The camcorder markets is a good business but the average selling prices are low. KOPN management has readily admited that the 3G market is what they are after as the size of the displays will be larger the ASP`s will be higher and the addressable market is significant larger.

On the VCSEL side, 2003 should start to see more interest in OC768 for the metro market as the cost get reduced signifciantly. On average most telecom products have seen a reduction in price of 15 percent per year. OC&?* has been around 2 years now. As the price get lower, it will see greater adoption rates.

In terms of hold periods, I have some long term for the ramp in 2003 and I am trading some. If you look at the chart you will see it is quite volatile. Management does not usually say much between earnings announcements and for the most part do not do a good job of getting their story out.
