Yes, you can even have more than 2 installs of W2K on one PC.

when i format the partitions will the drive names change?

Yes, but during formatting you're given an opportunity to
name the drives, you can reuse your old names or give them
new ones. I'm pretty sure PM 4 doesn't work with W2K.
