I don't really care nor think it makes a big difference either way

but sure want to thank you for all the work you are doing for us

I'd love to be able to do shorts

we really can just "make believe" our cash portfolio has the ability to short
and still keep this realistic

again thanks and all the best from yankeeland for the new year

Dan,

I want to interject a few comments about the port. First we wouldn't be having this discussion if we had 5% of the stocks down and/or if we were up 10% on the year. Everyone would want to continue to hold the winners a while longer. This is more of a "clean house" of loosing positions.

In reference to your statement about selling positions on an "arbitrary date". We shouldn't just sell everything on a set date, but in reality traders do sell underperforming stocks this time of year to offset gains. I have already sold stocks that I was down in because I feel I can buy them back later at the same or maybe cheaper prices. I would have been nice to keep the best gainers into the new year. I felt it only fair to close out all positions in order to have cash available to everyone.

Keep in mind if stops had been used earlier most if not all the sizeable losses would have been avoided. I'm not pointing fingers here. I have not had a good year in the port for that very reason.

You have done a very good job this year with the port. A big THANK YOU for your efforts.

Kelvin
