Joan: Your comments tell me that you have already come to the same answer that I have, which is that while we may be able to run for a bit longer, we cannot hide. I constantly marvel at the attitude I see among many N. Americans which in summary seems to be that "it simply can't happen here". This is about as dumb a point of view as can be imagined, but it is remarkably prevelent. This viewpoint, I speculate, allows many investors to ignore or give short shrift to an increasingly broad and increasingly nasty set of economic stats. In the end, this same prevailing point of view will see far too many investors cratered, but it has been ever thus. Best, Earlie
