I was in the Bay area on Veterans Day Weekend and rode BART from downtown SF to Oakland and back. It was a wonderful experience. People in the Puget Sound area are very envious of BART and should be. We voted down mass transit time and time and today are reaping the consequences of that decision. We should have been building a similar system at the time BART was built. We didn't because of negative thinking voters in love with their automobiles. By the way, I was trying condemnation cases for the state of Washington for the interstate highway system in the 1960s. I also tried some for property owners.
