Earlie, if you're particularly interested in retail activity in 'wealth centres', you're writing to the wrong guy. We've been down so long here in the Gaspé (we're the bluenoser's poor relatives), we don't even remember which way is up. <g>

It's a traditional resource-based economy that's been hollowed out for years now. For the most part only lobster fishermen and government types make a decent wage. More of our young people are in Montreal or Toronto than remain here. (fwiw, Hazel McCallion, the longtime mayor of Mississauga, is a Gaspesian, and it's said there are more English Gaspesians living there than on the entire coast).

So, it's a bit hard to judge retail activity. One anecdotal piece of evidence, though: a friend remarked the other day that there seems to be an awful lot of used snowmobiles for sale this year.
