I got away for Christmas for several days, away from the news and discussions. When I return I see that India and Pakistan are about to lob nukes at each other with the Pakistani bases full of American troops as the front line. I also see Argentina a step closer to civil war, a coup lined up for Venezuela, and chineese workers have taken the American managers hostage in the factories they want to close. The mid east is spiraling further into chaos, the Philipines have asked for American troops to quell an insurrection, and Bush doesn't know which direction to shake his fist when he makes his customary threat against Bin Laden. Each day that goes by since Bush showed up on the national scene is a little bit worse than the day before. How long can this go on?
