Dan3 - How did AMD manage to ship this chip set?

AMD dual chipset has USB 1.1 glitch

Resolution of problem to come

By Mike Magee, 17/12/2001 12:07:27 BST

EUROPEAN DISTRIBUTORS tell the INQUIRER that a glitch with AMD's MPX chipset means there's no current support for USB 1.1.

That is forcing some vendors to ship USB 2.0 cards with their motherboards, the distributors added.

A resolution for the problem is not yet in sight so Asus, at least, is shipping the USB 2.0 card with boards it supplies, the sources said.

Whether the other dual mobo vendors are doing the same is unclear at press time. µ
