No Kyros, all companies can't go poof in the night. That's the point. A US$ bet is a bet on an abstract Uncle Al promise to keep the $ steady and worth somebody working for. But that is a single entity which is subject to being destroyed by a single change.

A single company or several can and will go poof in the night. The idea of owning the index or a wide spread is that they are far more secure than a currency which is backed by nothing. The index is backed by a vast productive base.

The risk premium should attach to currencies, NOT the productive assets of the world.

PS: Kyros, as you know, I went down the gurgler with Globalstar. I KNOW companies can go poof in the night, in the sky or in cyberspace.
