Yes -- I have no doubt that it will be used off label for that purpose and others such as sprained limbs

I think there may even be an application to use it for the neuralgia that accompanies shingles (a recurrence of the chickenpox virus that hits people when their immune systems are low). Post-shingles neuralgia can be very painful and debilitating. It is a symptom of shingles that can last for months to years. Hundreds of thousands of people get shingles every year. Since the nerves are fairly close to the surface, I suspect Pennsaid would be an excellent potential choice as a pain reliever.
