Shoe-Bomber May Have Purchased Explosives in PA Areas, Not Amsterdam
(IsraelNationalNews.com) According to FBI investigators, the explosive material found in the shoe of terrorist Richard Reed, who last week tried blowing up an American Airline flight, was made of TATP triacetone triperoxide, used by Hamas suicide bombers.

While a backroom lab in a Gaza autonomous area could easily manufacture the explosives, investigators do not believe that Reed purchased the explosives from an Internet ad seen while he was in Amsterdam, adding he himself lacked the sophistication to assemble the device.

As was reported earlier, Reed was in Israel in July and he may have made his contacts or actually purchased explosives at that time.

A US court earlier this week ruled that Reed would be held without bail for attempting to blow a flight from France to Miami out of the sky by igniting his shoes which contained the device.
