That Amazon would survive.
That's our bet

It sure seems as though the bet morphed;-) I recall them being touted as a leader in on-line retailing, gaining critical mass with unlimited potential.

No wonder anyone thinks followers of the new economy are head cases!

Not all of them<VVBG>

I should really llok through the archives the post that was our bet. I do not plan to take the time.

Anyhow, Amazon will not survive without filing bankruptcy first. That is not true survival is it?

That makes two solid posts. Maybe you do believe it. I don't think Amazon will push much past $100 billion. Then again, Walmart is around $120 bil. Home Depot is only around $60 bil I think.
Did you notice that Barnes & Noble was weaker than Amazon today?"

I think Bezos wants to be Bill Gates. He's keeping all his shares and doesn't want to issue more additional equity than necessary. His shareholders (that's me) don't want him to do it either. "

Every word of it is wrong. Amazon is covered on the sell side by some of the most-senior analysts in the business. They have the perspective. They know the industry. They believe what they write. They don't project current growth ad infinitum. "
