Warpfactor,
I was thinking about these "bets," today, but I couldn't remember the board. Thanks for posting the results!

I'll go out on a limb for '02 and short everything except food stocks (?) and that is still questionable. Have been thinking about tone for the new year and this changed my mind >http://www.economist.com/world/na/displayStory.cfm?Story_ID=917304

With most states short of revenue, international problems in South Asia and Argentina, etc., I can't imagine how the consumer will continue to sustain the economy. Thus '02 will be worse than '01 (financial projection). Based on this assumption, I will take a few bond positions for shorter terms, and stay cash or on the sidelines. I had favored bios, but PE's probably will compress as other areas of the market head south. At this time, IMHO, risks outweigh any rewards that I see. Plan to keep an eye open for opportunities, but the macro landscape looks lunar.
My real results for '01 were much better than my selections for your contest. Avoided major loss of capital and might have actually gained marginally. Staying on the sidelines was not painful. Don't mean to sound bearish-just trying to understand realities of macro world.
Good luck to the longs after 1/1.
