Now don't lie, Gilbert. You really don't like Anglais and you are free to say so. If you believe they are stupid then say so. Say everything you dislike about them. Silly squareheaded, autocratic, arrogant, self centered, racist, etc.. etc.. The English have little to recommend them. Naturally low minded Anglais will defend in a knee jerk reactionary way. Let them. They are betes noir. The only thing that is at all reconcilable about the English was their stubborn rebellion against the Plantaganets. It was a masterpiece of whiles and give and take and resulted in the most durable semi-democratic parliament and most importantly, one of the most fair systems of justice. At least its corruption, cant towards the King, and stupidity is muted to a degree where the poor beleagured peasant occasionally gets off. They actually put principal ahead of power on rare occasions. But taking that principal to be God begets abuse and blindness to venality.

What judicial tradition or democratic system do the fr. have? Rain of Terror? Napoleonic code? Well since all you have a few overruled philosophes and the Tennis Court oath and lots of tyranny, you could always start a tradition of fairness. Although the English one is watered down and corrupted by 1000 years of lawyers, you could always start there. You could imitate worse. It's never too late. Just remember that statute law is for lawyers, not free men with brains.

The en. say they invented parliamentary democracy. Pure horseshit. Poles, Irish, Icelanders, Danes, even Russians and Aboriginals had voting councils. That is anglocentricism at its worst. At any rate I don't believe elected governments can be at all honest and a better system has to be eventually found. When we can expose the corruption of this system for what every person knows it is, then we can have our final peoples revolution and fair government instituted worldwide. I have to agree when fr. nationalist denigrate the Queen and br. influence. I know that however their solution is even more unpalatable.
