Ashton's volume for this quiet time of the season is impressive. Ashton stock seems to be popular due to its three major projects. Risk is less than 1997,as Ashton was moving up on Alberta prospects. January 2002 will be a busy month as brokerage analysts will be working on diamond research papers. Currently, Yorkton, Canacccord and Haywood have released research papers. I spoke to Merrill, Bolder and DS, and analysts plan to release research papers in late Jan. The folks I spoke to at Merrill, Bolder and DS are analysts that have followed Diamet and Aber.....frank

i>ACA - If it hits 4.30, I swear that I will enter my first short sell.

Hi Frank, extracted the above from the TWG board. I did not want to reply to a non TWG issue on that board. Here are my thoughts. Here is an opportunity to experience your first short selling. Ashton has surpassed $4.30. IMHO, I do not encourage or recommend shorting a momentum stock currently flagged as a Canadian exploration diamond sector leader. Shorting and trading requires very close monitoring of the equity. A tip, look at the market depth, support level of a security before proceeding with a short sell decision. If the support is higher than the timing and price you like to recover, it may impact your decision. Unfortunately in the investment industry, there is a winner for every loser. The mystery is finding the timing of a decision! Very few have perfected it 100%, but anything above the 70% makes me a happy camper. I have echoed for over six months, 2002/2003 will witness a big boom in the the Canadian diamond exploration sector, led by Ashton Mining. IMO, we have just started and there is many opportunites to make profitable returns. The story is getting bigger by the day.
From the 100 plus companies, the majority will ride and see huge market valuation increase over the next 12 months, only a few will ever have any substance to move to a feasibility phase. Just wanted to share a quick thought. There is huge amount of money on the sidelines, and we will see dollars leaving 'money market' accounts to equities. From the few discussion I had with profile business individuals, some of the money will move into the diamond exploration sector. On a different note, diamond exploration junkies should pick up Barrren Lands and Diamonds. Finished the books in December and I highly recommend the two books. Good Luck..frank
