Dartboards.

Your statement is so true. It is the exit not the entry that determines success.
We are taught while growing up to understand the world, to discover explanations and reasons to provide security in our actions.
Unfortuneatly there are complete swathes of knowledge that are at best 'describable' and that we know (and can prove)are unpredictable. Therefore if something goes against our personal predictions we should not be surprised but should be humble in our ignorance. The converse does not unfortuneatly hold.
Lucky, or clever? Experience has taught us which is the more preferable.

Hoping that the odds are with you in 2002!

Cut your losses and let your winners run. Ah. so simple…so true....but you know I‘ve never understood the reasoning behind it.

Why is it more valid then using a betting system in roulette?.

It is not like saying that the market cares about your entry price?

Given the universal acceptance of this trading axiom, I am sure no one will agree with me. Who wants to be the first to straighten my crooked thinking out by answering my questions?

Violating the most basic principle of successful trading is failing to immediately cut losses. I've heard it said that a good trader who cuts his losses and lets his profits run could use darts for his entries.

Very true.

I have twice let significant gains get shaved in Dynamic Series this year and I will aggressively attempt to minimize this mistake in 2002.

In spite of my shortcomings, I will finish the year up nicely in Regular Series where I do very well trading off the XAU. If I sold today in Dynamic Series I would be down a small amount.

My one year in Dynamic Series doesn't end til the first quarter of this year.

P.S... I will get back to you on that email in the next day or so.

Best to you in 2002.

Best Regards, J.T.
